WuXi PharmaTech, China's leading pharmaceutical R&D service company is proud to announce today that it, along with Lenovo, Haier, and SinoPec, has been named one of the top 103 National Innovative Companies awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

In 2006-the first year of China's "11th Five-Year Plan", the Ministry of Science and Technology initiated a "Technology Innovation Program" to foster the development of domestic companies that have achieved outstanding establishments in technological advancement, brand marketing, system innovation, and innovative company management and culture as a model enterprise for nationwide promotion.

Among the 103 companies, 26 state-owned enterprises and scientific research institutions were recommended by the MST. The competition among all other nationwide candidates was intense. WuXi PharmaTech received the award because it has created an innovative "R&D outsourcing" business model to effectively bring together the human and financial resources, and science and technology from both western and eastern world.
